"This is Los Angeles, there's always an alternative route"

As a kid, I thought I was going to perform on Broadway. It was a dream that even as a little kid I knew would always remain a dream. When I would daydream during school (because let's be honest, 6 hours at a desk is too long to expect any one human to be able to focus) I would see my career of me being on Broadway in a dramatic play, doing Independent Films, and the dream pretty much stopped there. Because we didn't travel much when I was a kid, LA seemed equally as far fetched as going to Europe. Ironically, I have traveled to Europe way more than LA.

Los Angeles is a city of dreams. Apparently, no one that lives in LA is from LA. Everyone goes to LA to achieve one thing: a dream. Although LA was never something I dreamed about, even in my dreams of being an actress, when I stepped foot there I immediately understood why everyone would want to be there. Coming from NY, there's so much SPACE. The weather is really nice, and apparently is nice all year round. Luckily, LA was on the trend of gluten free living, so I had plenty of options to eat!

Though going to LA helped me realize having my dreams stay dreams was okay. Going to LA didn't have the impact on me it's had on so many other people. I didn't get inspired that I needed to pursue a career that I had already left in the rearview mirror. I didn't feel the need to make a parent proud by living out their dream they didn't even fully understand. LA gave me the confidence in my reality. I was working in advertising (not even the fun kind of advertising), making a living for myself in a city that a lot of people also dream about going to. LA helped me see that being a strong, independent woman was the best dream I could've fulfilled for myself.
