"Manchester is the city that wears it's heart on it's sleeve" Love in Manchester

I didn't get to explore the city of Manchester too much - but I did make the trip to see Manchester United. Feel like this was a good choice, as it seems to be the heart of the city. Originally, I did this tour as a way to bond with my father and sister from a distance. Since they couldn't be with me, I decided to go and send them pictures and have them be part of the experience as best I could.

My father asked me if I could even appreciate touring the stadium when I didn't know the history. I've traveled a lot of places where I didn't know the history. But I am still able to appreciate it. There's an energy to certain places where you can feel the excitement.

I am a total theater nerd through and through. So people assume I don't appreciate anything related to sports. But a sports game, if done right, can be the best theater production you've ever seen. The field is a version of a stage, the athletes are performers, the fans are an audience. Lights, camera, action - whether it's in a theater or a stadium the goals are the same, to entertain, get your applause and win. I've been in packed theaters and stadiums and the energy is comparable when everything is working out just right. You feel like you can levitate based on the pure vibration of everyone's excitement.

If you have respect for one venue, then you must respect the other. So to answer all the questions of do I understand the magnitude and importance of a place like Manchester United's stadium, I do. I'm so glad I went. So glad I learned about this fascinating team. So glad I got to share it with my sister and father.
