"Italian food really reflects the people" Eating Pietrelcina

Pietrelcina is a very small city in the region of Benevento in Italy. My great-grandfather was born and raised here until he immigrated to the United States at 16 years old. His mother, my great-great grandmother, owned a lot of land. On the land that used to be the family farm, my cousins have a beautiful restaurant called Boda de Ciondro.

It is a high end restaurant with a beautiful view of Italy and absolutely delicious food. They do not have gluten free meals laid out on their menu. But they were incredibly accommodating in making their meals gluten free. My father also loved being able to have his huge ravioli for lunch! It was truly incredibly delicious and the staff, though maybe I'm a bit biased with them being my cousins, were incredible!

If you are going on a religious pilgrimage to see the birth place of Padre Pio, make sure to check out Boda de Ciondro!
