"Going to Sicily is better than going to the moon" Exploring Sicily

  • NO Mafia Walking Tour

    • I booked through this tour via GetYourGuide and it was a really interesting and educational tour. I'm used to hearing about the Mafia in the context of tv shows and movies - but hearing about the reality of what it's like living within the confines of the Mafia and the real push in the last twenty years the people of Sicily have made to not feel that way is really inspiring.

  • Palermo Cathedral

    • It's really beautiful on the inside, and you can pay extra to go to the roof!

  • Teatro Massimo

    • It's famous for being in the scene in Godfather 3 (I've never seen it so I'm unsure of what the famous scene is...don't judge me). But it should be famous for being the third largest theater in the world and it is absolutely beautiful.

  • Capuchin Catacombs

    • I personally found this to be a bit creepy for my understanding. I went to go see why my sister requested on a trip to Europe we go to a catacomb and I personally don't understand the appeal. But if you want to take a look at skeletons of men, women, children and babies - then this would be the place for you!

  • UNESCO World Heritage Sites Guided Walking Tour

    • This was a really great tour with Steffana. It ended up being a 1:1 tour which I really enjoyed.

  • From Palermo: Monreale and Cefalu Half Day Trip

    • My favorite tour the entire trip - but it does need to be nice weather in order for it to be worth it!
