"Eat, Drink and celebrate everything in Nashville" Eating in Nashville

  • There’s a restaurant in The Inn at Opryland called Opry Backstage Grill. They were an incredibly nice staff and I tried a couple of meals on their menu:

    • Shrimp and grits: Not my kind of food, so I give this a thumbs down.

    • Caesar salad and brownie: The Caesar salad was better than your average caesar salad. Their gluten free brownie was TO DIE FOR. Highly recommend the brownie!

    • Their burger wasn’t something to write home about, but it’s good if you need something to hold you over.

  • Mission BBQ is a fast food joint with southern BBQ meals. I had their ribs. Was not the best tasting meal, and definitely not sure if they took care in making sure things were truly gluten free.

  • Paisano is a pizza joint in a little restaurant at The Gaylord Hotel. They’re not the most friendly staff, but the pizza was pretty good. Not as great as NY pizza, but it’s a good place to check out when you needed something to eat and have it taste like actual food.

  • The staff at Bajo Sexto Taco was super patient and kind in sitting with me going through the menu over and over again to see what was gluten free. I have a sensitive stomach so having something with even a little bit of spice doesn’t sit well with me, but other than that it was a really good meal. If you’re visiting the Country Music Hall of Fame Museum, this is a good pit stop for someone that is anxious about being gluten free in a city that is not gluten friendly.

  • Sunflower Bakehouse is dedicated to being gluten free and vegan, you take advantage and order as much as you can. Their desserts aren’t always fresh, but they will let you know how to make your visit as special as possible and give you all the recommendations. I loved their cupcakes and pizza rolls. As for their sandwiches, I recommend they find a different kind of gluten free bread because it wasn’t the best I’ve ever had. It didn’t really have a ton of flavor.
