"Boston is not just a city, it's a feeling. A feeling of warmth, community and history"
The thing I love about living in Europe so much, is that everywhere you go, it's seeped in it's history. They don't swipe it under the rug and pretend it never happened. There are ruins all around you. There are people living in homes that have been in there families for generations. Unlike America, it would be rare to see a French-Italian or Austrian-Italian in a way that folks say Italian-American or Irish-American. They are simply Italian, French, Austrian, etc.
Boston is one of two cities that have done a fantastic job of preserving not only the city, but the countries history. If you want to understand America, go to Boston. The pride of those that are from Boston, cannot be matched by any other city. One of my regrets, is not having gone to school in Boston and be part of that community for even a short amount of time. If my body could handle the winters, It's the place I would want to live.
Boston is my happy place.
